Description

Disparities exist in the management of pain including chronic pain and spine pain. This is a topic that has been subject to recent recognition and evaluation. This will be a panel discussion to provide education and insight into challenges and barriers that exist and also to provide information to clinicians as to how we can manage this issue and improve outcomes for our patients.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Determining Differences in the work-up and treatment of spine pain conditions are affected by patient racial and ethnic background
  • Identifying methods for Improvement of patient care Interactions with Spine Back Pain who are Underserved, elderly, African American and Latino
  • Develop home programs using a cognitive-behavioral intervention to enhance physical function, while considering the effects of race and ethnicity, for patients with spine pain
  • Learn how to mitigate biased Attitudes in Providers in Chronic Spine Pain Care Decisions: The Effects of Patient Race, Socioeconomic Status, and ethnicity
