Medicine requires clinicians and patients to be more actively involved in understanding their diagnosis, treatment and outcome options. Healthcare stakeholders require analyzing large sets of clinician and patient data to provide insights into disease epidemiology, treatment effectiveness and safety and health economic value and impact. This National Grand Rounds will focus on the opportunities PM&R has to maximize big data. Hear from several experts on their experiences in generating clinical and patient-reported data to inform evidence generation.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Define real world evidence and big data as it relates to rehabilitation
• Discuss the prioritization of specialty societies building and generating hubs for big data and the influence they have in setting clinical standards
• Recognize how collecting Patient-Reported data is necessary to reveal patterns, trends and associations especially related to human behavior and interactions
• Identify how one multi-disciplinary musculoskeletal institution is using their data to support and enhance clinician and patient goals
• Evaluate the benefits of data collection and challenge yourself to be a part of PM&R’s big data journey
