Description

This focused review on the topic of cardiac and cancer rehabilitation is divided into 4 sections:

  • Cardiac rehabilitation (23 minutes)
  • Special populations (20 minutes)
  • Cancer rehabilitation (21 minutes)
  • Specific cancers(12 minutes)

Learning Objectives
After completing this enduring material, the participant should be able to:

  • Describe indications and contraindications of a cardiac rehabilitation program
  • Identify the significant considerations and components needed to prescribe a customized cardiac rehabilitation program for specific populations
  • Recognize and describe all of the elements to be addressed when developing a pain management program for cancer patients, including patient history, current treatments, medications, prognosis, lifestyle, etc.
  • Interpret the side effects of various cancer treatments and how they will impact the pain management program and functional outcomes for the patient
