  • SCI Management and Medical Complications including Neurogenic Bladder and Bowel Management, Autonomic Dysreflexia, and Orthostatic Hypotension (29 minutes)
  • Pressure Ulcers and Osteoporosis, Fractures and Heterotopic Ossification and Spasticity (25 minutes)
  • SCI Pain and Pulmonary Complications, Sexuality and Fertility, Neurologic Deterioration and Causes of Death (20 minutes)
  • Case Scenarios and Questions, part 2 (4 minutes)

Learning Objectives
After completing this enduring material, the participant should be able to:

  • Distinguish between traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injury and how it impacts course of treatment and long term management
  • Determine the level of spinal cord injury using established motor and sensory assessment scales and tools
  • Outline the principles of acute management of spinal cord injury
  • Identify and assess most common medical complications of spinal cord injury
  • Define and summarize expected functional outcomes for those with all levels of spinal cord injury
