Description

Our panel of physiatrists will be discussing the various roles they play in adaptive sports medicine and will be able discuss their experiences and facets of those roles with various adaptive sports organizations. We will cover the roles of the classifier, adaptive sports medicine clinician, team physician, medical director and community adaptive sports program director. This will be an opportunity for those who want to be more involved in adaptive sports to ask questions, network and receive mentorship.

Learning Objectives

• Understand the role of the medical director of large scale adaptive sports events
• Define what classification is in adaptive sports and role of the classifier, at a paralympic level.
• Understand how physician leadership and support can help facilitate and implement community adaptive
• Describe the elements of care that can be provided in an adaptive sports medicine clinic
• Identify the scope of the team physician at the paralympic level.
