Member May 2026: Charting Your Global Impact: Resources and Leadership Pathways in Rehabilitation
Description

Description

This session will introduce physiatrists at all stages of training and practice to concrete pathways for engagement and leadership in global rehabilitation. Through perspectives from leaders involved in broader international rehabilitation representation efforts, speakers will share how they identified opportunities, navigated organizational structures, and translated early interest into meaningful leadership roles. The session aims to demystify the "alphabet soup" of global organizations and provide clarity around available resources, mentorship avenues, committee involvement, and collaborative initiatives.  Each speaker will present a focused 10-minute overview of their leadership journey, highlighting practical entry points, challenges encountered, and strategies for sustainable engagement. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A and discussion designed to help attendees identify next steps aligned with their career stage and interests. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of global rehabilitation ecosystems, actionable pathways for involvement, and insight into how to chart their own global impact within the field.
