Pediatric Rehabilitation: Examination of the Infant and Child
Description

Melissa Trovato, MD; Bill Ide, MD; and Anton Dietzen, MD, presented a formal didactic lecture on Pediatric Rehabilitation: Examination of the Infant and Child. This lecture will review the fundamentals and basic rationale for obtaining a relevant birth history, development history, and history of present illness in the pediatric rehabilitation patient. 

Learning Objectives
After completing this enduring material, the participant should be able to:
  • Obtain a pertinent developmental history and history of present illness in the pediatric patient presenting for rehabilitation care.
  • Perform a physiatric examination in an infant with increased confidence including primitive reflexes and postural reactions.
  • Perform a physiatric examination in a school-aged child with neuromuscular focus to include clinical evaluation of gait.
