2021 MIPS Reporting - What You Need to Know to Avoid a Penalty
Description

CMS updates the Quality Payment Program annually via the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule rule. Eligible providers can choose to report using an Alternative Payment Model or use the Merit Based Incentive Payment System(MIPS). Most physiatrists will be reporting under MIPS which will impact their future Medicare reimbursements. This session will focus on 2021 reporting for MIPS as well as how to improve your performance score within each of the 4 categories: Cost, Quality, Improvement Activities, and Promoting Interoperability. Positive or negative payment adjustments based on a provider’s performance score will be 9% for the 2021 performance year and 2023 payments. Information covered will include a review of each of the 4 categories and proposed scoring for providers, choosing quality measures as well as practice improvement activities that may best meet your practice, as well as strategies to monitor costs and meeting promoting interoperability components.
