Description

This discussion will consist of two presentations focusing on prosthetics and orthotics in pediatric rehab patients.

Learning Objectives

• Review basics of myoelectric prostheses
• Review and contrast different commercially-available 3-D printed myoelectric prostheses
• Discuss outcomes on long-term use and utility of commercially-available 3-D printed myoelectric prostheses
• Recognize the most common indications for shoe modifications and custom-made shoes
• List the obstacles preventing providers from prescribing appropriate shoes
• Promote a discussion about the topic with a goal to put an action plan in place
