Spasticity Management 101
Description

This knowledge-based online course consists of 15 short presentations developed by experts in the field of spasticity management. Areas covered include:

  • Pathophysiology and Anatomy
  • Assessments
  • Treatment Modalities
  • Special and Procedural Considerations
  • Practice Management

The presentations can be viewed at one's own pace. Upon viewing all presentations, participants will need to complete an evaluation, which includes a reflection on learning, in order to claim credit.

Learning Objectives
After completing this enduring material, the participant should be able to:

  • Review the pathophysiology of spasticity and associated common anatomical patterns among various populations
  • Understand how to provide a complete spasticity assessment
  • Identify the various treatment options for spasticity 
  • Recognize key components for incorporating spasticity management into your practice

Accreditation Statement
The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation of Credit
The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) designates this enduring material for a maximum of 3.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
